      TV1 Colmar Brunton (May 2015)

In last Thursday's Budget, the Government announced measures to strengthen tax rules on property transactions, and to help Inland Revenue enforce them. These include: (1) A tax on gains made from any residential property sold within two years of purchase, unless that property is a main home, or has been inherited or sold as part of a relationship settlement and (2) Rules to make it easier to tax both New Zealand and foreign buyers of investment properties, and extra funding to help Inland Revenue enforce compliance.
